Singapore received 749,000 visitor arrivals in February this year, up 2.9 percent year-on- year, according to the figures released by the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) on Monday.
Visitor days were estimated to reach 2.6 million, an increase of 9.4 percent in comparison to February last year, the STB said.
Indonesia (119,000), China (110,000), United Kingdom (50,000), Malaysia (48,000), and Japan (47,000) were Singapore's top five visitor-generating markets in February.
These markets accounted for 50 percent of total visitor arrivals for the month.
Hotels in Singapore were estimated to register 121.8 million Singapore dollars (about 79.6 million U.S. dollars) in room revenue in February, remaining relatively unchanged as compared to the same month of last year.
The average room rate was estimated at 179 Singapore dollars (about 117 U.S. dollars), an increase of 2.6 percent over February last year. The average occupancy rate reached 83 percent, a marginal decline of 0.3 percentage point year-on-year.
